You should read this article if you are:
1. Trying to install antergos on a machine with a newer nvidia GPU (especially GTX 10XX generation, might also help people having issues with GTX 9XX generation cards)
2. running into the following problems during installation: When trying to boot into the graphical live environment (both on live and minimal iso), you end up with either a blinking terminal-like cursor in the top left corner of the screen or a x.org fatal server error saying "(EE) no screens found (EE)". Also, this article might help you if you were able to install antergos on your system, but get a black screen or the above mentioned blinking cursor when trying to boot to your new installation.
The problem is that the open-source nouveau driver, which is on the standard antergos iso has some issues with newer nvidia GPUs, which is why it is recommended to switch from nouveau drivers to proprietary nvidia drivers, which are not on the iso by default.
At first you have to use the correct iso. There is a forked iso made by "Pilzbauer", who removed nouveau drivers from the iso and added proprietary drivers. You can download it here or have a look at the project in Github. Pilzbauer also removed some libraries he personally didn't need but it's no problem you can install them later if you need them. At least for me the iso file worked fine.
Now make a live USB or DVD from the file. Then, when you see the menu at the Beginning, highlight the "start antergos live" option and type "nomodeset" as additional boot option. Then press enter.
Now you should be in the live environment. For me it started a GNOME desktop environment. From the Dock on the left side, you can start different applications like chromium and stuff. Click the one that looks like the antergos logo just with an arrow on it. That is Cnchi, the installing tool for antergos. Sometimes clicking the shortcut doesn't work. In this case simply open a terminal and type "Cnchi" and it should work just fine.
Now go through the installation and choose your preferred options. I won't go into detail here, but if you are interested in the installation itself and also how to best partition your drives (especially if you want to dual-boot your system with windows), I recommend this article.
After you installed antergos with your preferred options, it might occur that on first startup, you will get stuck on a black screen or on a blinking cursor. If this happens to you, this means that your installation still has nouveau drivers up and you need to replace them again with proprietary nvidia drivers. To do that, you need to boot your antergos system into non-graphical mode.
To boot in non-graphical mode, you wait for your bootloader to come up. Then highlight your preferred choice (do not press enter yet! only highlight the entry) and press "e". Then a terminal-like screen will come up. If you scroll down a bit, you will see a line starting with “linux” and then there are some weird parameters behind it. At the end of this line, just put the following parameter: systemd.unit=multi-user.target
After you did this, press [Ctrl+X], which will boot antergos in non-graphical mode (note: this change is just for this single session and not permanent).
Now you are in non-graphical mode and you can run the following commands line-by-line:
pacman -Syy nvidia nvidia-utils nvidia-libgl # It will ask you if you want to handle a conflict..you should choose "Yes" systemctl isolate emergency.target modprobe -r nouveau pacman -Rccn xf86-video-nouveau modprobe -a nvidia depmod -a systemctl isolate graphical.target
After this, just type "reboot" and try to boot to your antergos installation as you normally would. Now everything should work just fine and you can enjoy your antergos installation.
Just to let you know: This way I installed antergos in dual-boot with windows 10 running a nvidia gtx 1060 graphics card.
If this does not work with the Nvidia gtx 1060 graphics card, it is also possible to install with onboard graphics and the Nvidia card taken out, and then to reboot into the new system and install the Nvidia driver (And the x86version). Finally, you can put the Nvidia card back in and reboot.
